There is a specific betting product and evaluation criteria for each sport. Below is a list of the most popular and most offered sports. Rivalo will also offer odds for other sports (e.g. boxing) according to the sporting product and calendar. The general betting rules apply to non-listed sports.
1. Football / Soccer:
All betting markets offered for football matches refer to the result of regular time unless another form of settlement is expressly referred to. The term "regular time" shall be understood as the 90-minute period of play or, if applicable, the length of the game including stoppage time added by the referee but not for any added extra time or penalty shoot-out. Where a match takes place at a neutral ground, the team listed on the left is taken as the home team and the one on the right as the away team.
2. Ice Hockey
All betting markets offered for ice hockey refer to the result after normal time unless another form of settlement is expressly referred to. The term "normal playing time" shall be understood as the 60-minute period of play or, if applicable, the length of the game including stoppage time added by the referee but not for any added extra time or penalties.
3. Other American Sports Leagues (NFL, NBA, WNBA, MLB)
All betting markets offered in the above leagues refer to the result after playing time including overtime, unless specifically stated in the market name, help text or betting rules. Any game from the American Soccer League (MLS) or the National Hockey League (NHL) are settled based on the score at the end of regular time unless otherwise stated.
4.Tennis
a)No bets are valid until the first ball has been played. If one of the players withdraws after at least one ball has been played at the earliest and the game is abandoned (injury, surrender, disqualification) then the result of the bet is declared void. This does not apply to betting markets previously offered as live and the result of the market is already known (e.g., set won, game won, over/under betting). Where a game is halted or postponed, the bets as part of the tournament remain until the games are settled.
With games that do not take place as part of a tournament, the match is declared void unless it is replayed or repeated by the end of the following day.
b) For any match decided by a Tie Break (Often referred to as Super Tie Break or Champions Tie Break), where the tie break is used as a final & deciding set, this will be considered as one set for settlement purposes of set markets, and as one game for settlement purposes of game markets.
Example: if the match was best of 3 sets with player 1 winning set 1: 6-3, and player 2: winning set 2 3-6, with player 2 winning the 3rd set (tie break), then the market of set betting would be settled as 1-2 in favour of player 2, and total games in the match would be settled on the count of 19.
5.Basketball
All betting markets are settled on the result after regulation time & any period of overtime that is played. The exception to this is where odds on the draw ‘X’ are offered, in which case all betting markets on the event will be settled after regulation time / score at the end of the 4th quarter.
